Which TVs are supported?

The D-pad, home, back and menu always work — those go straight to your Fire Stick TV or cube over your Wi-Fi network. Volume and power are different: a Fire Stick TV can't do either one itself. The remote in your drawer sends both over infrared, straight to the television, bypassing the stick entirely. So for volume and power, Remote for Fire Stick TV+Watch talks to your television directly — same Wi-Fi network, same room.

Verified means we ran every command against a real device of that brand and watched it work. Supported, not yet verified means the app is built against each manufacturer's own published protocol — the same ones behind long-running open-source integrations — but we don't own that hardware ourselves yet. If your TV connects and volume or power misbehaves, the in-app report below is what gets it fixed.

A bare Fire Stick TV plugged into a TV that isn't one of the brands above still gives you the D-pad, home, back, menu and playback controls — just not volume or power.

My TV wasn't found

  • Make sure your phone and your Stick are on the same Wi-Fi network. A guest network, or one with client isolation turned on, hides the TV from the search — this is the most common cause.
  • The search detects your TV's brand automatically over the local network. Some routers and guest networks block that kind of discovery entirely.
  • If automatic search comes up empty, add it by address: on the pairing screen, use "Can't find it?" and enter the TV's IP address. That tries every supported brand directly, no discovery needed. You'll find the address on the TV itself, under its network settings.

Volume or power doesn't work

  • Confirm the device you paired is your television, not the Fire Stick TV — a stick correctly reports that it doesn't support volume or power.
  • Check your TV's network settings for a "wake with mobile" style option — Samsung, LG, Sony, Philips and Roku each name it differently, and it needs to be on for power-on to work over Wi-Fi.
  • Still not right? Send us a report — see below.

Help us verify your TV

Four of the five brands above have never run on real hardware. If you own an LG, Philips, Sony or Roku TV, the most useful thing you can do is open Settings → Report a problem, tap Build report, and paste it wherever you're already talking to us. It contains local network addresses, device names and error codes — never your pairing token, PIN or password — and nothing is ever sent automatically.
